Gemstone information:

Passion Paraiba Topaz is a genuine brilliant cut white topaz coated with a proprietary ceramic coating exclusive to Swarovski.  These stones are no longer available as Swarovski has changed their worldwide business model.

Apatite ~ The name for Apatite is derived from the Greek word “apate” which means “to deceive” because it can be easily confused with other more valuable minerals such as beryl.  It is found in many varieties and colors:  orange, yellows, greens, blues, pink and purple.  Apatite can be transparent and vivid in color, in which case it is possible to cut small faceted stones.  When apatite is translucent and has excellent color, it is cut into cabochons.  It is found in many varieties and colors:  orange, yellows, greens, blues, pink and purple.  The blues and aqua blues are reminiscent of tropical waters.

Apatite is a 5 on the Mohs scale of hardness (1-10), and its crystalline structure make is somewhat fragile and very sensitive to chemicals, abrasives, heat, acids, and ammonia.  Never use a steamer, hot water, or ultrasonic cleaners with this gemstone.  Use mild soap and room temperature tap water with a soft cloth so you don’t scratch the stone.  Care should be taken with apatite jewelry, and it is not a suitable stone for rings or bracelets.
